The Hunger Games is the first in a trilogy by American author Suzanne Collins. Set in a a dystopian future where the world has been greatly damaged by war and climate change, it follows the story of a teenage girl called Katniss and her struggle against the totalitarian Capitol. The Hunger Games is unsual in that it is equally popular with both male and female readers, and manages to simultaneously be a criticism of the horrors of oppression and war, and a love story. It is also an extremely addictive read which we guarantee you won't be able to put down!
