Private Tours in Accessible English in Edinburgh
Have a real Edinburgh Experience with a personalised tour in English that is easy to understand.
What you will learn
A tour designed for you in English you can understand
One of my favourite things about travelling is getting to experience the language of the country, but I know how hard it can be to follow tour guides speaking quickly and fluently.
That’s why I created my tours in accessible English – so that you can discover the beautiful city of Edinburgh while you interact with English and get the full immersion experience. I was born and raised in Scotand’s capital, so not only can I take you through its incredible history, but show you the secrets of the city that only locals know!
A great option for families
Are you travelling as a family but want your kids to do some language practise while they are in an English speaking country?
Then these tours are for you! You don’t need to worry about the formality of English classes or spend a fortune. And most importantly, you can make precious memories together. As a parent, I know how special and important that is, and what will keep a 7 year old interested!
What tours do you do?
That depends on what you are interested in! I design my tours for my clients and cover all kinds of fascinating topics. Get in touch for an informal chat and I can give you some ideas for your itinerary.
Some tours I regularly run are:
- Robert Louis Stevenson and the New Town
- Witches of Scotland
- Harry Potter
- Scotland’s political landscape
- Scottish food and drink tasting
When can I do a tour?
I run tours all throughout the year, but my schedule can book up quickly so please get in touch as soon as possible to secure your place!
Are these tours for me?
Do you want to do a tour in English, but are worried about not understanding? Do you want to discover the real Edinburgh, not the one the tourists see? Are you looking for a way for your children to get excited about English? Do you want an unforgettable holiday experience?
Then my tours are for you!

Why should I choose your tours in Edinburgh?
Get a personalised and unique experience in accessible English
My tours are the only ones in Edinburgh which are in accessible English. I am an English teacher with 16 years of experience and I know how to adapt my language. I’m also born and raised in the city so you can discover the Edinburgh tourists don’t normally get to see.
My tours are -
Hi, I'm Claire!
As well as a tour guide, I’ve been teaching English since 2006. When I started The Edinburgh Experience in 2012, I began creating my own exclusive tours for my students and discovered that as well as teaching, I loved telling my city and country’s story. I now run a Scottish History class as part of my regular courses and my favourite part of each week is discussing Scotland’s fascinating history with my students.
I would love to welcome you to Edinburgh and tell you its incredible story! Get in touch with me to discuss your tour.
