![]() It's that time of year again, Cambridge Exam time!!! If you are one of the many people presenting for PET, FCE, CAE or Proficiency you're probably in the middle of a revision frenzy and starting to get a bit nervous! I know my students certainly are! So, I thought that this month it would be a good idea to give you all a few useful tips for the different papers and also some useful websites which you can use to do some extra practice for the big day! If you aren't doing the exam next week don't worry, there is also a short practice exercise and some useful tips for writing in general for you to have a look at. You just need to download the PDF, answers at the end. Of course, the perfect way to improve your English level is to do our intensive summer course in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Places are filling up on our August courses so book your place as soon as possible. We're also doing a SPECIAL OFFER on our July course. A two week course is only 335€/£285!!! Have a look at these USE OF ENGLISH Flo-joe has some great exercises to practice the Use of English paper. Here are the links for FCE and CAE PRACTICE TESTS Practice tests for all Cambridge exams from Examenglish.com and more test from English Online here FREE MATERIALS Examples of free materials from the official Cambridge page here LISTENING Although it's not an exam style listening, TED.com has some fantastic videos subtitled in hundreds of languages. Why not try setting yourself some questions first, like what's the main theme of the talk, what is the speaker's opinion or write down some key words, then watch a video. You can check afterwards with the subtitles. The BBC also has some great podcasts where you can do a bit of extra listening practice like The English we Speak or 6 Minute English READING For some extra reading practice to get your speed up try Voice of America or Words in the News from the BBC SPEAKING Some great links here with pictures to practise part 2 of the CAE speaking exam and parts 3 and 4. And also part 2 and parts 3 and 4 of FCE. And finally from us at The Edinburgh Experience, GOOD LUCK!!! We're sure you'll all do fantastically well! We leave you with this good luck song from Daft Punk, a great one to celebrate to after it's all over! If you know what "get lucky" means, leave us a comment below ;) !
